PARQUE NATURAL DE LA PENÍNSULA DE LLEVANT

Natural Park of Llevant Peninsula and nature reserves Ferrutx head and cape Freu are located in the northeast of the island of Mallorca , at the northern end of the Sierras de Levante, in the towns of Arta and Capdepera .
The protected area is 1,671 hectares , of which 1,658 are public lands Albarca is Verger and s’Alqueria Vella and 13 in the Nature reserve Freu cape .
The Park and the Reserves were declared by Decree 127/2001 , of November 9 ( BOIB . 140 of 22-11-2001 ) . The scoping was amended by Law 10/2003 , of December 22 , tax and administrative measures .
Also this place is located within a Special Protection Area for Birds ( SPA) and is also a Site of Community Importance (SCI) in accordance with the European directives on birds and habitats. Therefore, part of the Natura 2000 network of the European Union . It is also an Area of ​​Special Interest ( ISNA ) , according to Law 1/1991 , of January 30 , of natural and urban regime of specially protected areas of the Balearic Islands .
